Eczema or atopic dermatitis (skin allergies) is a chronic and itchy inflammation of the skin.  Eczema symptoms include reddening of the skin, swelling, bumps, crusting and scaling and it most often occurs in parts of the skin that have folds (behind the knee, inside the elbow, on the neck, around eyes and ears).  Eczema affects both adults and children and is more prevalent among people with a family history of allergic reactions, asthma, or eczema.

Eczema outbreaks can be triggered by allergies, poor hygiene or changes in temperature or weather.

Eczema can be very uncomfortable to live with and it generally does not go away on its own.  Schedule an appointment with our office and learn about how you can mitigate outbreaks of skin allergies.
