Dr. Tim Mainardi
Allergist and ImmunologistDr. Tim Mainardi is a physician, researcher and educator who specializes in treating a host of allergic diseases. He holds certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He is an expert in treating nasal and ocular allergies, asthma, sinusitis, anaphylaxis and diseases of the skin. He is also a thought leader in the field of complementary and alternative medicine in allergy, has published a book chapter and review article, and has lectured at Columbia University on that subject.
Dr. Mainardi attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where he was elected by his peers to give the commencement speech at graduation. He continued his medical education at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, where he completed a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology. During his residency and fellowship, Dr. Mainardi amassed six separate teaching awards given by medical students and other residents, and was admitted to the prestigious Arnold P Gold Honor Society. Dr. Mainardi believes strongly that patient education is the center of any practice, and an educated patient is a healthier patient.
Dr. Tim Mainardi is currently a faculty member at New York Presbyterian/Cornell Weill and is the consultant allergist for Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. He is a leader in the New York City area in medication allergies, with a focus on chemotherapy. Patients visiting Dr. Mainardi can receive a full range of care for allergic issues. He provides allergy consultations and pulmonary function testing in addition to treatment for conditions including hives, psoriasis, sore throat, sinus problems, allergic cough, and ear infection.
