Dr. Ama Alexis

Dr. Ama Alexis is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics affiliated with NYU Langone Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical College.

Born and raised in Germany, Dr. Alexis received her medical degree from the Heinrich Heine Universität in Düsseldorf. She completed her pediatrics residency at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian (Columbia University) and her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the North Shore Long Island Jewish Medical Center (Northwell Health).
Dr. Alexis is a member of several professional societies, including the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology and the American Contact Dermatitis Society.
She was voted a New York Super Doctor Rising Star 2013-2014 and a New York Super Doctor 2017-2022
Ama shares her home with her husband (Dr. Andrew Alexis) and two children in New York City, where she has been practicing in both an academic and private practice setting for over 14 years.
Passionate about the education, awareness, and empowerment of all individuals and families affected by atopic dermatitis and food allergies, Dr. Alexis advocates for those who suffer and speaks on both topics regionally and internationally.
